Fat shaming, or skinny shaming is not ok.
After the conversations last week about mental health and how people can be struggling, I had to share my experience this week with Fit shaming. Yup, you’re reading correctly, fit shaming. I was called a freak because of my fitness.
Now I know that this was in jest but I wanted to bring it up because I believe we all need to be more responsible for what we say that can leave an imprint on others, perhaps negatively.
And secondly, you cannot make judgement on where people are in their fitness journey or otherwise. If you do, you need to turn the finger on yourself and check in with why you are being triggered. Maybe it’s time to do some self-development work and heal your wounds so you don’t spew you’re issues, preferences and limiting beliefs on others.
Definitely an important check in and conversation to have.
